Nicole

Meet

I was born in Hampton and raised in Highland Springs, Virginia. I am the granddaughter of a farmer and entrepreneur and the daughter of a public school educator and a U.S. Postal Service worker. I am also a proud graduate of Henrico County Public Schools. These roots shaped my values, my work ethic, and my lifelong commitment to service.

As a small business owner, nonprofit leader, and mother of three, I have spent my life supporting families and communities as they work to reach their goals—especially when it comes to children’s educational and emotional development. That passion led me to public service and continues to guide my work today as the elected Delegate for House District 66.

I have instilled the importance of servant leadership in my children, and I strive to live those same values in my leadership roles. I firmly believe that meaningful change happens when we work together—and as your Delegate, I am committed to being a strong, collaborative voice for the people of HD66.

Together as a family, we are committed to the children, families, and communities of the 66th District.

An Advocate for Education and Youth

In 2021, I was elected to the Spotsylvania County Public School Board, where I continue to serve. Over the past several years, I have worked tirelessly to advocate for increased funding, greater equity, and expanded resources to strengthen educational outcomes for all students.

In 2022, I founded the Pathways to Success Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to education and education advocacy. I also served as Board President for Higher Education and Learning Professional (HELP) Consulting, Inc., a national nonprofit delivering student-centered programming in college and career readiness, social justice, and education-focused grant consulting.

Community Leadership

Prior to becoming a school board member, I served on the Spotsylvania Board of Supervisors’ Citizens Budget Review Committee, where I advocated for responsible local funding for the critical needs of the community, including schools, social services, Parks & Recreation, and economic development initiatives that are foundational for a community to thrive.

In 2024, I was elected President of the Board of Directors of the Rappahannock YMCA. As a new member, my focus was to learn where I could contribute best to the mission of the YMCA and use my experience and skills in governance and leadership to strengthen the Board.

Through my businesses, Nicole Cole Financial Services Group and The College Money Team, started 20 and 15 years ago, respectively, I support individuals, families, schools, and community organizations throughout Virginia by offering free workshops on financial literacy, budgeting, and educating parents and students on financial aid and college funding strategies. Additionally, I actively volunteer and support local nonprofit groups and provide scholarship opportunities to graduates from Spotsylvania County and the greater Rappahannock region.

Investing Today for a Better Tomorrow

I earned a Master’s in Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Finance and Health Services Management from Northwestern University and a B.S. in Management from the University of Maryland College Park. My commitment to meeting and exceeding customer needs after decades of successfully operating multiple businesses is the type of leader we need in the House of Delegates.

My background in organizational and personal financial management, combined with a deep understanding of our healthcare system from supplier, provider, and consumer perspectives, equips me to serve effectively in the Virginia House of Delegates. More importantly, my years of eexperience across the private, nonprofit, and public sectors keeps me accountable to the people of District 66.

As your Delegate, I am honored to serve, committed to listening, and dedicated to delivering thoughtful, dependable leadership on behalf of our community.
