My name is Nicole Cole and thank you for your support.

My Passion…

I have always had a passion for supporting our children and helping them reach their personal and educational goals. As a candidate for the Spotsylvania County School Board, I am committed to increasing and diversifying learning opportunities for all K-12 Spotsylvania County Public School children, with the intent of helping students develop into well-rounded citizens, who can competitively succeed in a global economy after graduation.

Community Leadership…

I instilled in my children the importance of servant leadership, and because of this important value, I started 'The College Money Team' 12 years ago to support hard-working parents who wanted to learn how to access higher education for their children through cost effective means. Through this work, I have supported Courtland,  Chancellor, Massaponax and many other high school guidance departments for the past 6 years by leading workshops for parents and students on financial aid, college savings plans, and other college funding strategies. In addition to this, I lead College & Career Preparatory initiatives, and actively volunteer and support local non-profit groups providing scholarship opportunities to graduates from Spotsylvania County and the greater Rappahannock region.

Spotsylvania Schools Advocate…

I am a vocal advocate for our children’s educational and emotional developmental needs. Over the past four years, I have attended Spotsylvania School Board, Board of Supervisor meetings and serve on the Citizens Budget Review Committee, all with the purpose of advocating for our children's educational, safety, and social-emotional health needs, as well as the financial security and professional development of our Educators.

Hands On Education & Family…

I earned a B.S. in Management from the University of Maryland College Park and an MBA in Finance from Northwestern University. I believe my focus on meeting and exceeding customer needs, experience in organizational and personal financial management, and starting and operating multiple small businesses, could be helpful and invaluable skills in this role. I am a Virginia native, who co-parents three amazing children: one 2020 Courtland graduate, a 7 year Spotsy schools student (UNCSA high school 2021 graduate) and a rising 9th grader, with my ex-husband Ron.  Together as a family, we are committed to all the children, families, Educators and Administrators in Spotsylvania County.

Children are our best investment. (2).png
